For Nike merchants, everything begins and ends with the consumer. The Nike Merchandising team understands consumer needs and market opportunity to create the right product mix for marketplaces around the world. They blend art with science to bring Nike’s category vision to life in all retail environments from stores to online. The Merchandising team has the unique ability to see beyond trends to identify what’s next and deliver the right product, at the right price, in the right places, at the right time.

As a City Account Merchant, you are responsible for creating, driving and implementing aligned and profitable cross category/gender assortment strategies and tools. In this role, you work out of Paris office in collaboration with Integrated Account Team but remain closely connected with other Global and Geo Accounts and Nike Direct Merchants as well as other functions and teams, i.e. Geography Category Merchandising and Sales, Geo Express Lane, etc. to deliver an integrated yet differentiated consumer experience across channels in key city.

Key Accountabilities include:

•Drive seasonal integration strategies with Marketing to deliver against a consumer led flow
•Delivers a seamless, premium and effective consumer journey across all doors
•Partners with Account Sales Team to drive profitable and productive assortment
•Partners with Consumer Teams (CCSDs) to provide city input into line planning
•Partners with Nike Direct and other Account Merchants to ensure alignment across key city strategies and consumer demand

Key Deliverables include:

•Sets seasonal assortment strategies for Account doors in a key city
•Leads the decision rights with regards to Account assortments; works in partnership with Nike Direct and other Account Merchants
•Works closely with CCSDs to provide city insights on consumer trends and key retail moments into line planning
•Aligns with Marketing to ensure launches and offers align with key city events and investments
•Works with Visual Merchandising to ensure that the assortment and visual presentation strategy are aligned

Profil recherché

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree or additional 2 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • At least 5 years’ experience in merchandising, product creation, and or retail, in a vertical or wholesale environment
  • Footwear, apparel and/or equipment merchandising experience
  • Proficiency in retail and profit based metrics
  • Assortment planning experience
  • A keen understanding of the European consumer and marketplace
  • A high taste level for product
  • An ability to employ retail acumen and proven storytelling capabilities
  • An ability to respond with speed and agility
  • Communication skills and ability to influence across functions in a complex matrix organization
  • Candidate must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Knowledge of French is desired
